East–West Abstract Art — Japanese Aesthetics Meets Contemporary Western Painting
This collection brings together my long engagement with Japanese aesthetics and my grounding in Western contemporary painting. The result is a language where restraint and expression coexist. I avoid literal cultural references; instead, I explore how tone, negative space, and quiet tension can create emotional clarity.
Vertical elements often suggest aspiration, while softened horizons evoke stillness or timelessness. Many compositions rely on what is deliberately left unsaid — allowing the viewer’s imagination to complete the scene.
These paintings serve as visual pauses. I know that they work particularly well in minimalist homes, meditative rooms, and contemporary architectural spaces where designers value tranquility, purity of line, and the presence of subtle drama.
